Girls just wanna have fun .. a few outtakes

Hey it was really nice Thursday too! This lil sweetie was teething so it was quite the challenge. Mom did partake in the photo shoot and it is a good thing as she wanted to be right there with her once she sensed she snuck away. Here are 2 outtakes and see … I love color too. I just find that I see beyond that when a black and white portrait is created.

Virginia Baby Photographer, Old Town Baby Photographer - “I scream, you scream .. we all scream for ICE CREAM!”

It was such a beautiful day here in the Washington DC area! I had a session this morning with this sweet 10 month old. She was a little unsure of me the entire session, maybe my shirt was too loud lol. Anyway I asked mom if she had ever had ice cream. No. I asked if she was allergic to dairy products. No. So I suggested as a way to end the session if she wanted to grab some ice cream (homemade custard) and let her “go to town”. Yes! We had quite an audience of “ooohs & ahhhs” of people passing by. She simply put - stole the show.

I will be adding a few more in a couple of days but alas - a sneak peek of a baby and her 1st taste of ice cream.

Despite the rain showers and running for cover several times -

sneak peek from a session yesterday in Old Town Alexandria. Can you believe we had to take cover a few times, one shown below is on a loading dock underneath a set of stairs :) We finished just in the nick of time before it literally poured buckets. I just adore shooting outdoors, it’s invigorating and was determined to get this session done one way or another.

Just added one more in color for good measure! I wish I could post a ton, I have oodles I love but hoping the anticipation is well worth the wait.  I will show a few color variations but the b&w is so timeless and classic and was requested specifically by my client.

“She’s got electric boots a mohair suit, you know I read it in a magazine ..”

Can I tell you how much I loved the movie “27 Dresses” just for the bar scene part featuring Benny & the Jets by Elton John?! James Marsden and Katherine Heigl were perfect for this movie. I was so excited to see this is being released on DVD, April 29th! It’s such a chick flick though lol. In March when I attended the annual trade show WPPI in Las Vegas I visited the shops of Caesars Palace and they had the coolest Elton John store there .. although I never made it in ha. Am I showing my age now? hmmm
